Did you know? ~ GOOOH uses JP Morgan CHASE as the bank that holds all donations, and is in their new financial system? If GOOOH is "for the people, by the people"...then why do they place their funds in a HUGE corporate bank that was involved in the Bernie Madoff and ENRON scandals? I don't think the contract will be a problem unless the Rep wants to be like the current Reps and get rich off special interests. The real purpose of the contract is to act as a deterrant or insurance policy against corruption. You are right though it could become a problem if it's not worded correctly.
GOOOH is very new they will learn as they grow, if the contracts don't work that's really not a problem, the candidate's views are documented and if they start voting against their documented views they will be replaced in the next election, and would have to run as an independant IF they could afford to run a campaign. GOOOH has one thing that will keep corruption under control, Poor Candidates that can't afford to run an independant canpaign.

Big mistake!

The questions shouldn't come from one guy but from the grassroots of the organization. The process of deciding what questions are important to put on the questionnaire is just as important as how people answer them.

Another thing.

That so-called "contract": rather legalistic isn't it? Sounds to me like an invitation for the lawyers to take over the organization. That's not what you want, is it?

So long as the candidates don't need to depend on campaign funds from lobbyists, that would have far reaching implications. The contract seems like an extra and unnecessary step. It's as if you think no politician can ever be trusted no matter what, which seems a bit paranoid.

Both the questions and the binding agreement have yet to be finalized and I believe they were written by Tim Cox who is a computer programmer, he came up with the system and the sample questions which will be revised and probably rewarded before the answers are finalized and the selection process starts. I'm also sure that lawers will review the contract before anyone signs it, what is posted on the website is the intentions of the agreement not the actual agreement.
